Water Filter Cannister

Scott, it's hard to believe some of the things that happen in the manufacturing process. My A213HW was delivered to me with a regular water hose draped across the underside to provide toilet flush, -no zip ties to the frame or anything. After a lot of trouble with leakage, the dealer replaced it with PEX on warranty. Haven't tried it yet, keeping fingers crossed.

We had a Palomino Gazelle some time back that blew pieces of styrofoam insulation all over the place when we turned on the AC. I talked to a guy in a 5th wheel camped across from me in Florida. He said he has the same problem and it's been going on for two years.

After reading about the pressure reducing effects of the filter, I pulled the dealer installed filter from the housing. Then I had much better flow. Teh downside of the empty canister is air accumulation at the top of the housing that then get drawn into the water flow. So I replace the housing with a "Handbuilder filter" and reclaimed the space in my cabinet.

I'll only put a filter in there if I know I'll be using my freshwater tank frequently. This year I won't use one as all our stops are FHU. Next year we'll be going to Yellowstone, and I expect a bunch of no hookup stops so I'll be using the fresh water tank. When o don't use he tank I use an in line filter.

Replaced KW1 Canister

I couldn't bring myself to buying a $30 filter that only fits the KW1 housing so I installed a housing that takes standard everyday filters.
Robot Check

Having said that, I have the original KW1 housing for sale. Removed from my 2014 camper in like new shape. Can provide photos to anyone interested.
