I use an Equalizer 600/6000 WDH/anti-sway with my A122 A-frame and Hyundai Entourage minivan. Without the WDH the minivan rear end sagged uncomfortably, and the trailer porpoised - tongue would bob up and down, causing the minivan to do the same. I discovered this at the dealer - installation of a hitch, electric brake controller, and transmission cooler were part of the deal to buy the A122.
The transmission cooler was not needed. The Hyundai Entourage came with a huge separate cooler from the factory. The transmission cooler money was put into the WDH. Yes, the propane tanks had to be lifted to install the WDH bar supports (L-brackets in Equalizer-speak). The dealer installed 1" high pieces of pipe at the mount points for the propane tank shelf. This provided enough clearance to bolt on the L-brackets. Total cost of the Equalizer and dealer installation was $320.
The unit tows like a dream with the WDH. There is no sway all the way up to 75 MPH on the Interstate in 35MPH crosswinds. My wife is comfortable spelling me and towing the camper for several hours at a time. I will never tow without a WDH when the tow vehicle has a soft rear suspension again.
I have not tried any other WDHs, but I am very happy with the Equalizer. Less than 5 minutes to install and hook-up, and the same to remove at the campsite. The minivan makes a great sight-seeing vehicle, but I don't like leaving the hitch head on the minivan when we are camping.
By the way, you have never said what A-frame you own, and what your tow vehicle is. Weights could make a difference. The max gross of the A122 is only 3100 lbs, and I tow at about 2700-2900 lbs (depending on water and food and other equipment).
