What size eternabond for large bubble window

Hello. I am wondering what size eternabond to use around my bubble window. On my last camping trip, my camper was washed by a large rain storm. No leaks at all. However, 2 weeks later, I realized the window was raised around the edge. You could lift up the corners! So I did take it in for repair. When I get it back, I plan to put eternabond on it. I have a tan colored Rockwood A214HW so will more than likely use black. However, I am not sure about the size. 3" or 4" or???? thank you forum for your help.

Look at the bubble window and find the spot where the sealant is the widest. Measure how wide it is and order the eternabond which gives at least 1/2" more coverage.

You can order Tan directly from Eternabond. https://www.eternabond.com/RoofSeal-p/cr-rs.htm

When taping over existing sealant, which certainly you can do without removing the old sealant, be sure to clean it well before applying the Eternabond. I found that Mineral Spirits as found in a paint store works real well. Wet a rag, rub the old sealing material until clean and shiny, then follow that with another rag with Iso-propyl Alcohol to clean off the Mineral spirits. That will dry quickly then apply the tape to the dry surface. Two pictures below show the effect of cleaning with the Mineral Spirits, and I show how I trimmed off high spots of the caulk with a razor blade before I taped over it. Eternabond sticks real well if you clean and prepare the surface, then use a lot of pressure to push it down... use a wallpaper seam roller if you have one.

this is what we did on my RV before I sold it. worked well. A little overkill on the skylight but thats all I had and didnt want the new owners to have to deal with it for a while. I used dicor on the edges to make sure the eternabond doesnt come up.

Much easier if you use a heat gun. I replaced two 24" x 24" flat skylights (just flat pieces of polycarbonate) by using a heat gun and dull scraper and got the Eternabond fairly quickly. (The butyl tape took a little longer.)

It comes in Tan. Why not use that?

Just a FWIW. I have a bad gutter leak at the S&B. It's more of an annoyance than a "problem" because it is digging a hole in my lawn. Gutter has an odd angle and has never been dry. After seeing the comericals, I decided to give the Flex Seal Clear product a try to see how it would work and hold up. I was impressed with how well it went down and it is a relatively thick tape. It is NOT as transparent as glass, but would let light thru. I was able to stretch the product around the odd corners I have and it appears to be holding well. I just put this on, so I have no idea on longevity, but again, I was impressed with the product and would consider it for this type of need.

I mention this only because you indicate you are working around a window and have a colored area. I suspect this would be almost unnoticeable even if you overlap it onto the window. I bought a 4" wide role that was 5 feet long. I did overlap several layers and it seems to bond to itself well.

If you read the fine print on Flex Seal's website they state Flex Seal is a temporary fix and you should not expect it to be permanent repair.
