Window deformation.

Today I noticed that the steel frame running horizontally and separating the upper and lower windows on the left sidewall is dented and the moulding in that area is slightly deformed. It is the result of the pressure exerted to the silver dollar sized area of the frame by the right sidewall when the trailer is folded. The trailer is just over a year old and the deformation is minor, but I am concerned. It seems that there is a lot of weight resting on a fragile window frame. Has anyone else noticed this problem.

I've been concerned about that too. I've not seen anything yet but I have only 690 miles of towing so far.

Got any pics?

Hamguy probably has as much or more towing behind him and his AFrame than anyone else here. Wonder what he has to say in this.

Not that I want anyone to have such a problem, but I do hope it's an isolated issue.

I got curious so I went out with my level and camera. The first pic is of the level setting across the window to show any bowing-in. It looks huge in close-up because of the zoom, but it's less than a half inch. I don't know if it was ever less than that. In the second close-up you can see that all that vibration has worn a couple of shiny spots from the three rubber bushings on the other wall and it looks like there's been some squishing of the longitudinal separator bar, but I don't know that it's more than just something to keep an eye on for now.

Thanks Hamguy for the pics. I'll have mine out layer this week and check it out. I'd say you are right about just watching it.

I purchased mine that way and just figured it was normal...my unit has several cosmetic imperfections...it's how I know it's mine.

Or as we used to say back when I was selling computers, "that's not a bug, it's a feature!" I like your attitude, LM!

Got mine out of the garage for the weekend trip. Mine has similar deformation mostly to the rubber seal. The aluminum frame is not deformed.

Looks ok to me...
