Winterization

'Tis the season I suppose for these questions... I have a 2015 a122s and I'm planning to winterize with the antifreeze method. I'm reading that I don't want to fill the fresh water tank with AF, however.

I found this on Amazon:
Camco 36543 Pump Converter Winterizing Kit - Lead Free

Is this what I need?
Thanks!

look under your trailer. On the hose coming from the tank to the pump, you may already have a winterization valve. turn the valve, hook up a hose between it and the antifreze jug, and start flushing.

The valve is now open. Would I close it and then hook up the antifreeze jug? Thanks so much!

yeah, just move that valve and it'll draw from the jug.. Dont forget to put it back when you're done.

Bypass your water heater BEFORE pumping in antifreeze.

Winterization

Yep. I've got those bypasses all set, I just wanted to make sure I had the right valve. Didn't want to burn out the pump. Thanks all!!

Winterization

Not getting a good seal with the hose at the winterization valve on the FW tank. Anyone who uses this have an idea what inside diameter hose I need? I can buy a bunch of different sizes, but was hoping to avoid the guess work. And I left the pump on quite a while, but nothing was moving.

3/8 id hose. Might help to warm the end up with a lighter to soften it up before you try to put it on. It's a tight fit.

Just a thought... if the hose you had on was tight enough to stay on I can't believe it wouldn't suck anything. Make sure the valve is turned in line with your hose.

I had purchased a 1/2" clear plastic hose, whatever material that is, and it was slightly loose but did hold on the opening. I could only get enough antifreeze to flow through the valve by squeezing the hose around it with my hand. But ideally I should have gone with 3/8" in a stretchable material.

Use a hose clamp.

The 3/8 hose worked perfectly once I heated it up and jammed it on the nozzle. All is winterized and put away for the winter. We had a great first year and were sorry to see it packed away in the garage. But not as sorry as our 12-year-old Lab. It became Hailey's doghouse, even when it was parked in the driveway... she loves sleeping in the camper!

Thanks, all for the help. As usual, this forum is invaluable!

:-)
