In the 2+ years I have owned my Trilogy, the water pump has been changed 3 times
Each time the same problem... no water flow. Pump would run and nothing comes out. Oh, it would work when the pump was changed out, but just long enough to prove to me it was working.
As full timers, we rarely use the fresh water pump. Partly because it never seemed to work correctly and partly because we prefer to travel with empty tanks. Since we are headed to Mickey Mouse Town in Florida on Tuesday, I decided to carry some fresh water in case we end up dry camping.
My tank has been empty for over a year (last pump change). I ordered a ShurFlo 4008 on Amazon, installed it, and filled the tank. Works like a dream (pump removed was a 4008 as well). Produces more flow and pressure than we have ever had in the Trilogy using the fresh water tank. We have run a few tanks of water through it on a daily basis just to be sure all is well... and so far, so good.
My opinion? I don't believe for a second that the pump was ever changed by my dealer (twice) or another repair shop (Indiana under warranty). Why do I say this? Because all three previous pumps failed in the same manner! What are the odds? If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, smells like a duck, then...
Bottom line: I changed it this time and so far (1 week into the change) it is working like a champ.
I just don't understand what happened to good, reliable, quality work/repairs in our country. Seems harder and harder to fine nowadays. But then again, look at our choices for President this year
