We ordered our 2014 Trilogy 3850RL last Saturday. We added the washer/dryer stack, the MOR/ryde Independent Suspension, MOR/ryde Disc Brakes, Full Body Paint (no decals to crack), King Bed, 80" sofa and the ONAN 5500 installed.
This will be our full time home as I retire next June. We can't wait to get it and hit the road!

John, we're headed to the Mor/Ryder factory to get the IS and disc brakes installed. We've had it strongly recommended to not use the never-lube bearings as too many failures, just to use the standard ones and maintain them annually. Just my opinion but the washer and dryer in the closet space is a big space user. Think of being able to use only half your hanging space to open doors of W/D if the install is in the back closet. We've talked to owners who regret the W/D install. Just FYI.

Interesting comments.
I pull my 3800 D3 with a 2009 F-350 SRW, Triton Programmer and DPF delete. Boost set at 225hp for optimum towing. Truck handles the rig great but I am looking for a F-450 dually. I don't think the 1 ton is enough of a truck to be pulling through the Rockies with. These units are too heavy to be pulled with anything less than a truck with 20,000 plus towing capacity.
Check your Inverter to verify that it is turned on. The light should be green, if not it will be either yellow or red. I had the same issues until I found the inverter needed to be turned on. Duh.

just curious since the 2012 f350 diesel SRW has a 5th wheel towing capacity of 23,200 and the f350 and f450 share the same motor and trans. what is your advantage of the f450?

Just compared the two units on Edmunds web site and your right there isn't much difference. (2009 F-350 Model) I'm looking at replacing my existing 2009 F-350 with a 2009 F-450 so that all my performance equipment will switch over. I do believe however that the F-450 has bigger brakes and the engine is tuned differently.
A 2011 or new F-350 with dually would do what we need it to do.

I have had a 2008 f250 diesel and now an f350 DRW diesel and was pulling just about 15,500 with my cedar creek and really the old 6.4 pulled as well as the new 6.7, now the srw versus the drw makes a difference in stability, but not enough that I would trade in a good 350 srw for a drw. Plus the 6.4 sounds like a diesel and you do not have the DEF to deal with.

Thanks, Sherry. I appreciate the input. With the extra storage overall in the camper, we feel we will have enough room for our clothes. We are in the process of cleaning out closets at home, knowing we need to have less stuff to travel. Hanging clothes is one of those items.
We travel quite a bit in our 2008 Cedar Creek 37RDQS. We've spent weeks on the road and didn't have issues with clothes hanging. Of course, the washer/dryer was in the hallway and not in the closet.

We pull ours with a Kenworth T2000. No problems starting or stopping. We have the stacked w/d. Love it. 3/4 ton os not enough. 1 ton srw is not enough.

I agree completely. Thats why I'm looking at a F-450. Would go to a Kenworth or Frieghtliner but they would be a pain to use as a daily driver for work.

John please let us know how this unit is doing for you. We are looking at getting the exact same model and setup ourselves except probably not the Onan . I have a 2009 Silverado 3500 hd dually that i will use for this unit.

Has anyone had roof/leaking problem and/or has anyone had a roof coating like a Rhino coating applied?

I had 4 locations where the Fibre Glass roof membrane had fractured. After trying to get this corrected by Forrest River I ended up using a rubberized spray coating to seal the areas. This has worked very well so far. I also had to use the same sealant around the perimeter of the sky light as it had cracked at the fastening points. I am hoping to get both of these issues corrected by my dealer when I get my unit home next spring.
I like your idea of using the Rhino Coat for the roof. That makes more sense than trying to fix the fibre glass.

I was reading a forum and there are places that do this but can not find anybody that has done it but it makes sense if you get it done when it is new may stop lots of future problems

We are still waiting for our Trilogy to arrive. Communication between myself and Trilogy, as well as between my dealer and Trilogy, has not been good. Hard to get straight up answers. Supposedly the Trilogy was due off the assembly line on 16 Nov. Here it is 30 Dec and it has not been released for delivery.
Have considered even cancelling the order if this is an example of how Trilogy/Dynamax is going to conduct business.

Finally we have received word from our dealer that the Trilogy has been released for shipment and will be at the dealer Tuesday afternoon. My dealer then has to install the satellite and whole house surge suppressor system. So, we should be able to start moving in to it next Friday or Saturday.

That is great news John. I got an email from Michael Babcock with Trilogy in regard to insulation in the front cap. He said they double insulate the front cap as well as adding a layer or radiant barrier sheeting. I know there has been some discussion about the insulation. Can't wait for an update on your unit.

Hi Gary,
We now have the 2014 3850RL and the front cap is maintaining a good temperature. It has been below freezing most days since we picked it up and it has done well. More than I can say for our fresh water supply. Will post details on that in a few days.
