Insulated bedroom floor
I decided to insulate the floor of the bedroom over the storage compartment. I know that a large portion of the bedroom is over generator compartment and the overhang. I can only work with what I can access. I may move the inverter later and insulate that area.
I used the 2 1/2 in pink insulation. It took about 1 1/4 rolls. I taped it in place with the silver foil tape.
The the board is 3/4 in insulation panel with foil on the back. I used screws with fender washers to hold the panels in place. I had to cut out for the toilet drain and supply as it hangs down under the aluminum beams. I then cut a piece part way through so it would bend over the pipe. I taped the seams with the same foil tape used to keep the insulation from falling in my face.

to reduce heat transfer through the floor as much as possible. Floor is cool in the morning in winter. Havn't tried it in the summer yet. I am preparing my Trilogy for full timing. We are living in it as we prepare our house for sell. As soon as sit sells we hit the road.

Tight looking job you did there and I can understand the why.
How much weight did it add to the trailer?

With the way my wife and daughter complain about the cold floor (oh heck- so do I) when we camp when it's chilly- this seems like a great idea.

I've been wanting to do that to mine, also. One day, I will! I've opened my storage compartment in the summer and been amazed at how cool it is from my escaping air conditioning!

The fiberglass insulation is the heaviest part. I cant see over 50 lb added at. I will be adding a lit more than that when I fix my tank support.

We've done this on a few of our previous RV's. Well worth it. Now you've given me a little inspiration to get started on our new one. Previously I've always used just the foam board, but may try the batten this time. A little more aggravating, but we paneled over the foam board with luan last time.
