This is our first 5 er, and I've seen a few of those hitch supports. Is anyone here using one? Are they needed?

Don't waste your time or money on a tripod if that's what your asking.

Thanks. Won't get one for the 5er and won't cook over a campfire any time soon.

We use a tripod pin support and it made a tremendous difference in vibration created by the washer and dryer up there. I put it off for six months but finally decided to give it a shot. Huge huge difference. However, it's fair to point out that it makes no difference other than with the vibration created by the washer and dryer. Walking, and general movement have never been a source of significant vibration for us in this unit. Only the washer and dryer. So, if you do have a washer and dryer you will really appreciate the tripod support. Also, bear in mind that you have to use it correctly. I would say a good half of the installations are incorrect and therefore ineffective.

Just got my x chock wheel stabilizers. Installed them and then ran around fifth wheel. Most of the jiggling has stopped. I like 'em.
