Microwave is possessed

Our Microwave started coming on for 3 minutes randomely. We started leaving the door open at night to avoid this problem. Then the key pad is unresponsive. This happened at multiple campgrounds. I will check with my dealer when we get back to Texas in September.

Sounds like it may have to be replaced.

I believe there was a recall for certain Fridigaire convection/microwaves that were starting randomly. The bulletin said something like 'not to leave any objects especially metal unattended in the microwave until it's been fixed'.

There is a recall on Frigidaire microwaves and dealer should replace this at no cost.

The microwave only seems to only act up in certain parks even though voltage frequency ground and polarity seem to check out.

I found the following on another Forum, posted primarily by Newmar owners:

To add a bit of history from my problems and research, our 2013 Ventana was delivered with an FFMV154 series convection oven and the problems associated with it was that it would not reach operating temperature. Many owners complained about this same issue.

Newmar elected to remain with Frigidare, but changed to the FFMV154 series which is being reported to turn on by itself. This is the units installed as a replacement in my Ventana and my problem was that the first time we tried to use it, we immediately received a burning electrical smell and the front glass door fogged up. Needless to say, we unplugged it.

For future reference on replacements or substitutes, the $700 figures being listed previously is for the GE Advantium series # PSA9120SFSS, but a cheaper unit would be the GE Profile series # PVM9179SFSS convection oven.

So, if anyone with a new order coach has the oppurtunity to change it out, even at additional cost, I would recommend it.

FRIGIDAIRE CONVECTION OVER RANGE MICROWAVE FFMV154CLS Is the replacement model number.

700 coaches recalled...if these are the same units, where is Trilogy?

Newmar RVs recall motorcoaches because the microwave inside can start on its own - Elkhart Truth

I plan on checking mine.
