Transfer Switch

My 3715FB had the generator prep option. It doesn't have the generator, just the prep. For weeks I have had this irritating buzz, like a ballast in a fluorescent. I pulled off the basement panel and found the buzzing coming from a gray box marked transfer switch. Anyone know if it can be bypassed?

If you have no plans of adding a generator I'm sure you can remove or disable it. Mine has a Progressive Dynamic PD52 transfer switch in it and it doesn't make any noise. You can download the manual from the web site which shows wiring and operation. If your Trilogy is still under warranty you might want to have it looked at and repaired or replaced.
