Auto Changeover Valve Green for how long?

Okay, I have a favor to ask of anyone with a dual propane tank set up with an auto changeover regulator that is green for a full tank, and red when it's empty. Point the changeover switch to a full tank, open the valve on that tank and confirm the switch goes green. Close the tank valve and leave it alone for about 24 hours. Is the switch still green or has it flipped back to red?

I can try this, but the green flag is activated by the pressure in the line. If you close the valve and have absolutely no leaks, it should stay green for quiet a while. If it goes back to red in a short period of time, there could be a small leak. This is assuming everything ( including pilots if equipped) is off. When I turn on my propane after being parked for a few weeks, the last used side is usually still green.

It's takes alot longer than 24 hrs for me to go red. I also have to purge the system everytime too. I've always suspected the changeover to leak so I always shut the bottles off when we aren't camping.
