This should work. No extra tanks needed.

The regulator is the problem. I carry a spare 30 pound bottle and have a "tree" I can attach to it. Using the tree allows me to use a lantern, a 2 burner stove or my grill if I want. It also gives me a spare 20 pounds in case my 30 pound bottles should go empty on me. Another advantage is the 20 can be exchanged just about anywhere.

I bought my 5er used from a dealer that had it on consignment. It appeared that the high pressure hook-up for a grill was there but when we looked it wasn't. He offered to run a high line but suggested a spare tank. There was no cost either way to me. A high pressure line was only good for a grill. The spare 20 was more useful to me, and I had everything from my tent camping days.

The reason for the quick connect is some may want to remove the regulator and use this grill as a replacement for the original grill, which is an option to you if you want to do so.
