does anyone know how to use this refrigerator?
Im trying to fire up this fridge that runs on propane. The freezer seems to be working fine but the fridge doesnt seem to be getting cold, maybe i need to leave it on longer. Also is this control really how you adjust temperature? Its just the plastic clip thats attached to the metal things and a tube.

Usually a minimum of 24 hours to get things running and properly cooled.
Has it ever worked to your satisfaction?
And yes....
That plastic sleeve is how you make temperature adjustments. There is a wire attached to it right?

Lots of folks say 24 hours to get cold but my experience over 4 different rigs is that is should be getting pretty cold in the fresh food section in 6-8 hours. Maybe 10-12 in really hot weather.
Again we ask, how long has yours been on?
Slide the plastic clip all the way up for coldest temp in the FF section. Make sure the little thermister which is held by the clip has not slid out or almost out the bottom of the clip slider.

And I see from the pic of your front panel that the fridge is ON (Auto). This will allow it to automatically switch to propane once you unplug from shore power (provided your battery is fully charged and the propane is turned on). To make it run on propane only, push the gas button in. The "check" light will come on & stay on until the propane burner lights.

Yup, 10 to 12 hours and both sections are at temp as long as the doors weren't constantly being opened.

Our freezer always gets cold long before the refrigerator.
Yup. A bit longer. And.... stop peeking. Every time you open those doors, you lose most of your refrigeration.

I got a wireless thermometer for my fridge so I don't have to open the door to check on how it's doing. They are cheap on ebay or amazon.

Our is in the South where it's hot. I leave it 24 hours freezer cools down faster as it is smaller. Only cold things added then.

Another question and you have not replied to anyone trying to help you with the first question.
Is the first question resolved as far as you’re concerned? It would be nice to know before we chase off on another question.
I probably sound rude, don’t mean to be but it happens a lot where someone will ask for help and never come back to say anything helped them.
Let it run for 24 hours, measure temp, if not cold enough then maybe time to discuss fans to other options. If to cold, slide down, wait and repeat as necessary..

slide the plastic sleeve down the aluminum fin . Try locating the bottom of the plastic thermoster to the bottom of the fin. Leave for 4-5 hours and see if temp is dropping.
I just noticed that yours is opposite to mine . on mine warmer is up and colder is down.

forestdweller, I have to ask.
Did you not do a PDI/walkthrough with the dealer?
Operating a RV fridge is a basic part of that.
Even lousy walkthroughs will at least cover that.

Perhaps he bought privately, or inherited, or bought from someone who inherited. Not everyone gets a pdi and if not they have to research things in their own, which he/she is doing be asking on this board.

I have to ask the same question or did you buy used. You have asked here about your fridge, another thread you asked about how to dump your grey tank , and another thread you asked about how to light your stove.
Please continue to ask questions though as there are no dumb questions.

The plastic slide you showed is only a plastic clip to hold the thermistor. Should be a small wire with a tip on the end. It should point up.

Forestdweller the key to this type of refrigerator is as close as possible a
perfect level.
The refrigerant sysyem is an emersion system. The lp flame or 12 Volt supply
is what moves the refrigerant in the tube on the back of your refer, there is
no pump to move the refrigerant.
If your trailer is not level left to right front to back it reduces the efficiency
of cooling and if run too long out of level can burn a hole in tubing.
Once you have this done you can put a small fan inside the refer section to move
air and you will be more than happy with operation.
Happy camping

They bought a 2019 Wildwood so I'm pretty sure it's new.

I help mine getting colder faster by tossing a few Nordic gel ice packs in when I fire it up the day before heading out. Then swap them in and out of the freezer to keep it colder while camping. Seems to work for me. Nordic Ice NOR1020 No-Sweat Reusable... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WGA94WW?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I can't tell in the picture of the control whether the light was lit up for AUTO. This should be on if it is on auto mode which will select either electric or gas, depending on what is available. If the light is not on and the button is pushed showing that the fridge is on then it is running on propane. I have found that if is is not on auto mode, but the gas button is pushed it runs on propane only and the check light won't come on if there are problems, so unless I am running on generator I keep the auto button selected. Last trip we were on my wife told me the fridge was not working right and the check light was on. I opened it & found that the thermistor had come out of the plastic slider. Put it back where it belonged & the check light went off and all was well again.
