Fitting Sealing

I've installed a quick disconnect line thru a hi pressure regulator to one of my propane tanks. It Tee's between the bottle and regulator. It works fine, but I always seem to get a faint gas odor whenever I open the bottle compartment. I used teflon tape on all of the brass pipe fittings. Is there a different type of sealing tape that should be used with propane?

No not really, there are different densitys/thickness of tapes but they are mostly the same material. I prefer pipe dope (aka paste) its messier but does a better job. Your quick disconnect could be seeping. Mix up some dish soap and water and brush on all of your connections. It should show a bubble at the leak.

YES. They make a yellow Teflon tape for gas. (I also usually use the paste for gas.)
