Furnace problems Suburban

My rv has a Suburban sf32 furnace. About 5 years old. Furnace isn't dependable and often doesn't light. Ehen this happens it sparks but doesn't light. It then locks out after 3 tries. Sometimes it will work for 2 or three firings and then it won't and we wake up cold at 4 AM.

I've changed out the igniter / flame sensor, the sail switch and the high temperature switch. No luck.
Any ideas on what to check next?

Are you attempting to run this at high altitude?

Mine is doing the same thing. Just went camping at
7000'. Very frustrating. This is the second trip that it is doing this. Works fine at 2000'.

There are many postings here about how to resolve this problem when camping at high altitudes. If this is happening at lower altitudes, then you might very well have a problem with the circuit card that is in the heater itself. Suburban heaters are known to burn out the control cards early in life and there is a very much improved replacement offered thru a different manufacturer. If your heater is tied into a Dometic loop circuit that is tied into the AC units, then a safe bet would be to isolate your heater completely by rewiring the controls and installing a separate independent thermostat to control the heater independently from the rest of the Dometic equipment.

there is a trick that some folks have used at hight altitude to get the furnace to operate. the exhaust outlet (very important)(not the inlet) is divided into 3rds take a piece of tinfoil and cover 1/2 of one of the 3rds sections. this provides back pressure at the high altitude and the unit will run.
