Gas Grill.. making hissing sounds at tank

I have a Brinkmann portable gas grill, and got a new hose to connect it to the quick connect fitting at the bumper of the trailer. The only regulator in the system is the one at the front of the trailer by the 2 on-board propane tanks.

I was grilling for the first time with it this weekend, and when it was running with the gas lit in the grill, there was a high-pitched hissing sound coming from the propane tanks at the front of the trailer. Is this anything to be concerned about? Any ideas on why this would happen? Any ideas on how to make it stop?

What size (BTU) is your grill?

It's no unusual for a regulator to make noise under high flow rates - so if your grill is pushing the limits of what the regulator can supply, groaning or hissing may not be a problem...

Guessing there was no odour of gas, venting from the regulator, etc?

What is the model # of your grill. I did not know Brinkman made a low pressure grill.

It's the Brinkman Roadmaster X, model 810-4201-0. Here are the specs:

Roadmaster X (810-4201-0) | Brinkmann

2 burners, 12k BTU each.

Let me ask you- were the burners difficult to stay lit? Keep blowing out by the wind anything under medium? I have the 2 burner 10k each unit and having a problem. Connect to rv propane supply also.

No, they stayed lit perfectly, even when I turned the heat knobs down to the lowest level.
