Heater duct

I have a non ducted heater and its by my front door. For the heat to get to the rear it is a 2" duct hose about 16' long. Thats where the bunk beds are and where my kiddos sleep. By the type it gets back there its cold. Should I replace it with an insulated hose or is there something else I can do? I thought about using one of the 4" outputs on the heater and using a reducer to the 2" hose, maybe it'll help with flow? Just throwing it out there. Want them to be comfortable ya know.

Best option is to figure out how to get a 3-4" hose all the way to the back. If you just go a short distance with a 4" and then a reducer to 2", you won't really be better off.

Next best option would be to insulate the 2" hose, but I would ask: Where is the heat going now? If the hose is inside, even the leaking heat should help; if the hose is outside, then yes, you need to insulate it.

Otherwise, if you can get a small fan to push the air, that would help.

Its all inside. It runs along the wall in a hidden compartment type thing. Not sure a 4" would fit but maybe a 3" its not freezing back there but a little chillier. I might just cut it off and make it heat the bathroom since thats closer and its virtually doing nothing for the kids room

What about just adding a couple of layers of aluminum foil around the duct hose.

Also double check for any obstructions that may reduce air flow.

I could try but its a pain to remove. It has good flow but isn't warm at all by the time it gets back there

Understood.
Wrap the layers separately to create air space which will act as insulation.
