Hopefully this will be stupid a easy propane question.

I have a 2000 Wildwood LE and this is our first year. This is also the first time out this year and I think that the gas was turned off when winterized but, for the life of me, can't figure out where. Can you help?

At the tanks is the shut off..

Don't forget to turn them on very very slowly.

I have the tanks open, I am assuming there is a shutoff somewhere along the line but don't know where.

Assuming this is the travel trailer (vs. 5th wheel) it is under the white plastic propane cover on the front of the trailer. Just lift it straight up and there will be a valve on the top of each tank. Turn them both counterclockwise to turn them on. Most travel trailers have automatic switch overs, but if your doesn't you may also need to switch the tanks if one is empty.

Probably not. Some new units have a solenoid valve interconnected with
the LP gas detector. If the gas detector is triggered it won't allow gas
to flow. I don't think it would be found on a 2000 model tho.

What is not working??
And as mentioned below- new LP tanks have high flow shut off internal.
On some tanks if you spin the valve open too fast it can trip the shut off
and it might stick shut off.
Try shutting the valve and then tap on the tank with a mallet or block of
wood and then open the valve slowly.

Are you SURE the tanks are full? Do you have a green window
in the LP gas regulator??

Well, I am not sure that is the only problem. I am not getting gas to the pilot light but the fridge is not working either and it is on auto, I have it plugged in now. Going to see if I opened the tanks too fast. I filled them at the end of last year and, just in case, hooked up the one from my grill.

His may also have (being) that old a manual switching valve which is between the two tanks.
My old tt had one it had an arrow that points to the tank you want to use.
When I would take my cover off the cover would turn the switch straight up not allowing gas from either tank.

Yep, I found that.

Still no luck, I just shut the tanks off, tapped all over them, reopened very slowly.

OK, feeling kind of daft, the gas is on. I had the brilliant idea to check the range and that works. But the pilot for the water heater isn't getting gas.

Just to make sure they are full, shut them off and unhook the pigtail from the regulator and then turn the tank on slowly and see if they still have propane in them. They could have leaked out over the winter if everything wasn't tight.

To light the pilot on the water heater you have to turn the knob full counter clockwize(its spring loaded) and hold it while lighting pilot after pilot is lit turn back to where it says pilot then to on. be sure there's water in it first.

OK, I knew it was something stupid I was forgetting. I haven't used it since last year so I had to hold the pilot down for about 45 seconds and I was apparently too impatient on my first 20 attempts...

Thanks again!
