Hot water not so hot.

I have a Rockwood 8311SS and the hot water is at best luke warm. It has even that way since I purchased it so I chalked it up to that is how it is.

I was camping this weekend with some friends and comments on how the showers are "refreshing" due being a little on the cold side. He said they wished they could adjust their hot water down because it was scalding.

Any ideas what to adjust to get real hot water?

Thanks!

Sounds like the water heater by pass is turned allowing it to mix hot and cold.
Or if you have an outside shower the knobs are turned on with shower head off allowing water to circulate to warm water.

X2. Either one of those would be the likely culprit.

The same thing happened to me with our last trailer several years ago. The first shower I took was rather chilly. After using the campground shower the next morning I finally looked under the sink at the valves and like Turbs said, the bypass valve was turned. Problem solved!

That was it. The bypass valve is located in a very inconvenient area. I couldn't even see the valve, I was able to feel around for it.

Thanks all!
