Leaking Dual Tank Cross-over

We have a propane leak at the dual-tank cross-over/regulator on our 2011FR MiniLite etc 181. I sprayed the assembly with soapy water and a large bubble forms at the little vent hole and other smaller bubbles form on the face of the perimeter of the cross-over part. Has anyone experienced this problem and repaired it? It appears that the unit is screwed together - face to body.

You can try tightening the screws but you will probably need to replace the regulator.
Usually if they leak from the vent the diaphragm is bad.

There don't appear to be any screws other than those holding the combination cross-over valve and regulator to the mounting bracket. It looks like the face of the valve assembly with the direction and level indicator screws into the rest of the unit as there are no screws holding it together. I thought I might try to unscrew it and see if a gasket or dried out sealant might be the problem. I suppose I'll have to replace the whole darned thing, but it would be nice to know why it failed. We live in a very dry high desert environment that's tough on rubber hoses and gaskets.

Just retuned from my local propane dealers and confirmed that the cross-over diaphragm has failed. He found a replacement unit from his supplier and I should be back in business by next weekend. I'm sure the original was the cheapest FR could find. I'm willing to pay a little more for one that won't go south on me.

I've had to replace 2 of them so far not hard to do so now I carry a spare. Ordered mine from Amazon for $12.00. One original equipment and one bought from RV dealer.
