Little Red Campfire on RV Quick Connect

This has been discussed, but I haven't seen an answer to my question. If I remove the regulator from the propane campfire and connect the hose to my 5th wheel's Quick Connect. can I control my flame and LP usage with the cutoff valve on the camper? If not, please tell me what I need to do. In the past, I have enjoyed the portability of a 20lb tank. But I am tired of loading and unloading it (getting older).
I need to be able to adjust the flame.

You can. Just be careful on igniting and keep it low.

I appreciate your help! I asked because I know that some valves aren't good at regulating flow but tend to be more either on or off.
