LP alarm goes off when I turn on hot water

We just finished setting up at our campsite and I turned on the hot water in the kitchen sink and it set the LP alarm off within about 10 seconds. If course the flashing light doesn't match any of the alarms in the little book that came with it. We had hot water so the pilot is lit, right?
Once it goes off while camping it seems to go off all the time.
Our camper is only 18' so it seems like every little thing (like spraying a bit of dry shampoo) sets it off.
Any insight? Honestly... It goes off so much we tend to hit the reset button and ignore it. [emoji33]

There is no date in the alarm that I can find but it does say replace 60 months after retail sale. The camper was made in 2011

A dealer can test it. I've seen some that where to sensitive like you describe and can easily be triggered by other particulates.
Had a new one on our boat that did that.

Thanks for the reply onthelake. This one has always seemed very sensitive or else we are pretty leaky! Lol! I just thought it was interesting that it alarmed as I was using the hot water. I heard the pump kick on and the heater fire up. Hopefully no leak!

It's probably located near the floor close the the appliances. Ours is right between the hot water tank & stove to detect leaks while asleep mostly. You'd smell the LP in most cases awake.
