Lp detector

Just picked up my camper from storage and the lp detector is doing a slow beep followed by 2 red blinks and 2 green blinks. According to the code on that its EOL, what's this mean? I think it means end of life?

That's would be odd considering its 14 months old. So does this mean replace it?

This sounds really like an end of life warning. I would strongly advise to replace the sensor. Do not take the risk!

Check the detector's User's Manual for the warranty period. If it is out of warranty (the one in our RV was one year), call the manufacturer. They may make it good since it is only out by two months. The manual for ours states that you can press the reset button and clear the warning, but it will come back after 72 hours. After 30 days it won't reset. The lets you use it until you can get another one, but I don't know how reliable it would be during this time.

By all means, replace it as soon as possible.

The original one in our RV failed before it was two years old. The life is stated to be five years.

Thanks, as I suspected. Leaving for Florida Friday and no time to mess with warranty. Will buy a new one today.

Was the battery disconected while in storage? If not is the battery voltage low? Low voltage can make the detector give an error.
