LP Hose extension?

My Roo has a gass grill which attaches to the side of the camper, there is an LP hose that supplies gas to the grill, it has a quick connect attachment making it easy to attach to the grill. I was told I could buy an extension for the hose, basically making it longer, so I can move my grill out from under the awning further from the camper if I need to. Does anyone have a similar set up? I am wandering where to buy an extension hose that will fit the quick connect attachement. I looked online and have not seen any. Thanks.

Also try Home Depot and get natural gas bbq hose. Usually 15-20' and brass adapter fittings can be had at many hardware stores

If you go the route I recommended you'll need one other part. A male 3/8" flare to female 1/4" pipe adapter. Home depot or Lowes might be a good place to look too. Not sure they'll have the quick connector parts but it's worth a try.

My local harbor freight has a 25 3/8" air hose with threaded connectors on each end. Can an air hose be used?

NO. You want hose that's labeled LP gas right on the hose.

I am looking to do this as well. I have found this hose. Basically I want to come off the the camper to a Male Quick Connect connector (Trailer has a Female with a shut off valve already) to a 12 ft hose that I can plug into what ever grill I decide to purchase. Currently I am considering the Coleman - RoadTrip Grill LX.

Here is what I am thinking.

If you are thinking about hooking a grill that's made for throw
away cylinders to the LP tank on your RV it won't work.
The RV has a regulator that greatly reduced the LP pressure
to the devices in your RV such as your stove and fridge.
A grill that's made for throwaway tanks has different orifices and
won't work at the reduced regulated pressure.

Is there another grill I should be looking at?

I have a Broil King porta chef and I see them used by the majority of campers I see. Regulator is easily removed for hookup to trailer propane system. Much better than the unit available from trailer manuf.

I know that this is an old thread.
But after doing several searches, this is the only thread close to what I was searching for.
I thought my input of a current purchase might be of help to someone.

On my 2012 RockWood, I'm not to thrilled with the idea of cooking on the gas grill so close to the TT.
So I bought this 39" quick connect extension hose at Amazon.com. I would have preferred a longer hose, but it will work.

I guess if you wanted additional length you could purchase two of these, but then you're paying for extra fittings.

It was my understanding that you need to hook the T-piece upstream of the RV's own regulator then take the regulator off the grill and connect it on to the T-piece. Then you have only the pressure drop in the extension hose to wonder about.

I got a Weber Q-220 and will be setting it up for next season. I'd like to get about 15' away from the RV with the grill.

Weber sells a shorter extension to run the grill off a 20-lb bottle, but that means a run of rubber hose at bottle pressure rather than regulated pressure. I'm not sure I want to do that for 15 feet.

I haven't been able to find a hose with a 1/4 quick connect on one end and the standard male grill connection on the other, can piece together if I could find longer hose that just had female nuts on both ends??

If you take the regulator off of the BBQ you can hook the BBQ directly to the quick connect(without the BBQ regulator) on the rv as the rv regulator drops the tank pressure to the pressure needed for the BBQ.Just need to buy a hose to go from the BBQ to the quick connect.

We cooked all season with our RVQ exactly where it's set up by the factory - attached to the bracket on the TT. Can't really understand why everyone is so squeamish about using it this way. Our TT didn't catch fire, or blow up, melt, get greasy, etc. The only thing we did do is switch the position of the small table and the RVQ; it was set up by the factory to be used to the left of the table; we switched it up and it is now to the right of the table. Necessitated getting a bit longer hose, which my DH took care of. Putting up with a much longer gas line and moving it to a table, would be, in my opinion, a hazard; very easy for someone to trip over the hose, etc. and send the entire hot grill flying.

I too used the grill attached to the camper for about 10 weeks this year with no problems. However, we did have to occasionally close the camper doors to keep the awesome smell and smoke out.

When we head out on our family/friends outings we take a larger BBQ to accommodate the extra people that we invite for both the weekend and daily.We place the BBQ close to the quick coupler so tripping over the hose is not an issue.It sounds like some of the RV'ers are looking at having a "better" BBQ which may not be able to be attached to the TT.

Can't tell, but would this hose work? I need to hook it to a Coleman NXT 200 grill that uses the green throwaway cylinders. What's the connection size on those little green cylinders?

RV Quick Connect Hose with 1"-20 Disposable Bottle Male Connection

What's nice about that one is you can get a longer hose if you like, and it's good to a pretty high pressure (just in case).
