no heat or hot water

This one puzzled me a bit. Last night my furnace and hot water heater would not fire up on gas. I check the propane tanks,100 lbs. and a 30 lbs. backup. The 100 lb tank may be a little low but the 30 was near full.

I removed the line and checked the tanks and rehooked them up, but still neither the hot water or the furnace would fire. Grabbed an extra blanket and went to bed...

I woke this morning and they both worked fine. Could I have had air in my lines? These tanks have been hooked up since spring.

Or could this be my regulator is starting to fail?

I'd think either the regulator or some moisture froze in it and plugged it until it thawed out
