Noise from vents

Alright- just got my unit back from the dealer. I have a ticking noise coming from the duct work in the floor when the furnace is on. Only heard from by the vents in master bed and in front of entertainment center. Ticking is a consistent beat and can be heard after about a minute. Dealer says it is "heat expansion" and nothing can be done.

Any thoughts ? If FR is listening would sure like to remove the annoyance. Bought unit in dec 13

I would have to agree on it being heat expansion.

Would suggest pulling the vent and check to make sure the transition is secured adequately to the floor and use alum tape to seal it. The plastic duct work should not make any noise. You might have a pc of the plastic duct loose in the duct also that is flopping around.

I hear heat expansion pops & creaks from my duct work after the heater shuts off. I don't hear them while it's running but then again, maybe the noise of the heater drowns them out or I'm not paying attention.

Ticking with a consistent beat has to be something else. But it could be something as simple as vibration from the heater causing a wire to tap on your ducting. I bet it's hard to trace.

Sure it's not a bomb? seriously, check for a loose duct.

The dealer said that they found nothing loose but we all know how hard some people look for random noises.

Could it be an igniter trying to light?

Possible. Sounds JUST like an inigtor popping. But it is being hear only on one side of the TT and the furthest vents.

Newb on this forum--reposting here to your initial post. I realize you posted this back in 2014 but this is the only post or info I have come across describing what we are hearing and where. I was just curious if you ever diagnosed the issue or what happened with the trailer. Heat expansion is a possibility but the rhythmic sound heard doesn't sound like sporadic pops and sounds I associate with heat expansion. Our trailer is brand new and the sound is concerning. And annoying. Anything you could share would be so helpful. Thank you!
