Pinging From One Tank Only

When my first 30# tank went empty, my 2nd tank kicked in, but it would make a pinging sound every time it sent propane to an appliance (usually water heater). I switched the dial on the monitor to the 2nd tank, but the pinging didn't stop. What does this mean? Do I have a faulty splitter or connection?

I have experienced similar sounds from the area of the propane regulator. Through the assistance of an RV service manager, I learned that the pig tail propane hoses have a check valve built into the hose coupler. The valves, when defective "churp" like a bird as they "flutter" back and forth! I would replace the hose on the 2nd tank. IF that does not correct the noise, replace the regulator. Hose #1, not involved in the noise issue, would not be defective. Amazon sells an excellent 12", etc. "Camco" brand propane hose. It is rated as heavy duty.

AHHH is THAT what the heck all those noises are coming from the Propane area?!?! Thought we had a family of chicken hawks nesting inside our propane bottles and they just wanted to sing to us all night! ;-)

Thanks for that info. Had this problem on my 2011 V-light but did nothing to it. Just let it go. My new TT V -light has not had this issue but will keep this info handy in case it does. Later RJD

Had the same issue on the DS tank, nothing on the ODS tank where the switch over regulator is located. As l001952119 stated, relplaced the pigtail on the DS tank, noise gone. Hope this helps.
