No smell of propane any where. Unit specs also say it will test for methane besides propane. I check everywhere with a high end gas detector and no hits. I even stuck it in the toilet. In a previous post people spoke of having the same problem and being cured once they replaced the unit. When it went off on me at Quartzsite we were running the refrig and the heater, when it went off on my daughter she was not running anything. I wonder why they would combine a propane and a CO alarm together If one gas is heavy and one light. Carbon monoxide is heavy and my alarm is on the ceiling combined with the smoke detector and if I put a co detector down low this all does not make sense.Guess I'll sleep with all the windows open LOL Mike
