Propane quick connect & grill

We just took possession of our new RV, which included a National Supply Model # YH1801RV Portable LP Gas Grill. The RV has a propane quick connect also. Unfortunately, the quick connect propane line won't connect to the grill. The two just don't appear to click together as they should. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Thanks.

Pull the collar back as you try to insert the coupling. You might need a a little WD-40 to make the fitting work better.

Did that, still doesn't snap in place.

Thanks.

never heard of this grill. most FR products get the SideKick Grill.

so, no idea what kind of grill you got.
does the grill's paperwork list a website?

Sounds like a mis-matched coupling on the grill. Take a close look at the p/n on the coupler; the 5LP series are for high pressure while the 250 series fittings are for the low pressure system used on campers and generally found only in RV supply centers. Even though you can insert one into the other, they won't click to seal.

The grille brand and model # doesn't show up on Google. Perhaps the grille is some offshore substandard thing??

As stated, with the right connector, it will click in place, but you should pull back the outer ring (if that's what it's called) to allow the connector to go in. Just like fittings on an air compressor.

You may need to buy a complete hose and replace the one on the grille. But then, shouldn't the dealer be responsible for making this work right?

We disconnected the connector from the grill and sent it back to our RV dealer. Yes, it was the wrong size connector. They just sent us a new part and now it works great. Thanks for all your help.

I have the same grill. Where is the hose for it? It wasn't in the bag.

Ours comes out of the side of the rig, near the door. What model do you have?

We recently upgraded our rig to a Flagstaff 8527CKWSA. Here is where the propane connection is located on our rig.
