Propane tank drain with LP A/C running on Solera 24W

i recently bought a new 2015 Solera 24W. I was told that the A/C which runs on propane if not plugged in will drain the tank in 13 hours when running all of those hours. That is an Onan 3500 Propane A/C. That seems ridiculous to me to install an A/C in a nice moho that can only run for 13 hours unless plugged into shore power.
Please advise. Is my info wrong? I hope so. If not, to boondock I will have to put a 50 gallon propane tank on the roof to stay cool when not plugged in.
