Propane Tanks
This will be my first question to ask you all about winterizing your TT.

I blew out my water lines after draining all water, added Camco antifreeze to p traps and I'm hoping I did everything right since it is our first TT.
Now I need to know if I should fill both propane tanks before I cover it for winter?

The propane tanks can be stored full, empty, or anywhere in between.

I only fill mine when 1 goes empty.

The rule of thumb I was told when we first started RVing 20 yrs ago was to fill the tanks before winter storage. This would prevent condensation & corrosion from developing on the inside.

With the newer tanks that can only be filled to 80% the rule does not completely apply.
I guess you are still protecting 80% of the tank.
I for one fill my tanks for storage just because that’s $$$ I don’t have to fork out in the spring when I’m getting everything ready for the season.

Conventional fuel tanks are vented and therefore are breathable. LP tanks are not only sealed but are pressurized. Moist air cannot migrate in and out. Any moisture that might be inside is all it will see. But there shouldn't be any if it was purged right. It matters not how full or empty LP tanks might be. This is not true for gasoline tanks, diesel tanks, kerosene tanks, etc...

Should the propane tanks be removed for the winter? they have a plastic cover on them now

They do not have to be.

Generally is is discouraged to store propane tanks inside.

Did you drain the hot water tank ??
