Regulator problem

We needed to replace the hose from one of our tanks, when in place there was leak where it connects to regulator, as DH was tightening the nut the whole piece broke off and there is still some inside the regulator.
He is nervous about drilling the remaining piece out and wonders if we should just replace the entire regulator or is it salvageable?

You should be able to get the broken piece out with an easy out.

Change the regulator. You might be able to remove it but its very easy to get junk in bedded in the seat and cause a leak/creep issue.

I agree. Replace the whole unit. Propane is not something to mess with.

Thanks all , we ended up replacing it decided if it didn't come out easily it was time for a new one! The easy out worked but after inspecting it we went with a new one.
