Singing Regulator/ Bottle switch control

Just returned from camping in the Colorado Mountains. I am having an issue with my regulator/regulators on my Crusader 315. The small regulator on the left side bottle, (away from the switch) sings when anything is on. Additionally when the bottle is almost empty the pressure drops, but the switch does not change over to the other bottle. The fridge won't re light, and the furnace burner kicks on and off. When I manually switch over to the full other bottle, everything works fine. Looking for suggestions. I have gauges on the bottles and the gauge on the one bottle tells me there is still some propane in it, but the pressure isn't high enough to keep things running. The stove still works during this time. Have had this happen twice now, and in both directions right to left bottle and then left to right bottle. Gauge at top of the switch still showed green, not orange as when the bottle is completely empty. Anybody experience this issue?

Those small regulators (usually red) are notorious for failing. Replace it. Some folks (like me) remove it entirely after replacing it several times.

Thats the one making the noise. You say you just removed it? What regulates your propane on that side?

The small red one was a safety feature added for lengths of hose over a certain length (like going to the other side of the RV). My older fivers didn't have one, it was all regulated by the main regulator. So I just returned to that type set up.

You should be able to find the little red one at any RV parts place, or a propane company.

I'll look for it. You say you finally just eliminated it. What kind of issues were you having that finally got you to just get rid of it? I'm having issues with my furnace and my refrigerator when the bottles get low. The furnace burner kicks on and off when lighting up, and the fridge goes on check and won't re lite until I switch to the full bottle. I suspicion the regulators, but it doesn't seem any different regarding which bottle I use, which would lead me to the main regulator or the switch mechanism.

I never had problems like you are describing. I replaced three of the little red ones before I just removed it. 2 had leaking diaphragms, one stopped flow altogether.

If your problems are the same with either bottle, then I would look at main regulator, then pigtails.

I have a 2017 Wildcat Max that just developed a chirping regulator on the passenger side. I’m curious did you find the source of your regulator problem?

Haven't dealt with the issue yet, but will follow the advice and try replacing it first and go from there. At the end of our camping season, so may not be able to check it for awhile.
