Squeaky Noise

During our last outing we started to hear a fairly high pitch squeak under the MH whenever you would step in or out of it. We are getting ready for another trip and so this weekend armed with grease, silicone spray and assorted other lubricants I crawled underneath to clean and grease up various suspension components that I assumed would be the culprit.
Low and behold I was way wrong on that assumption. The noise turned out to be coming from the fixed propane tank, more exactly from inside the tank. It sounds like there is a float or similar device for the level indicator that is causing the noise.
There probably isn't anything that can be done to fix this short of opening the tank up and fix/replace the float assembly but I am hoping that someone may have a brilliant idea for this. It isn't a loud noise but the pitch is really annoying.

Any thought are appreciated.
