Stay A While kit in a motorhome question

I am installing a Stay A While kit in my Lexington tyo use when the MH is on the pad at home since we keep it heated during the cold months. This wi9ll permit me to change tanks (20#) and eliminate the need to take the MH to the propane facility to fill; the on board tank. T%he questyion is it necessary to remove the 5" hose when traveling or can I leave it attached to the rig? I understand it must be protected if left attached. Anyone have experience with this?

I have the extend a stay kit. anytime you undo the tank you must remove the hose and reinstall the plug as there is no check valve or shut off valve on the connection. i'm getting ready to install a quick connect with shut off valve.
