3rd Trip - lost a vent

Just bought a Wildwood 27RKSS. On the third trip the vent on the rear of the tt that services the stove hood vanished. Its a white plastic piece about 14 X 5. Wasnt screwed on - looks like it clips in because there is no recess for a flange to fit in. Any clues on rv replacement parts online where I can get one? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the clarification KD. You would think that an inexpensive item like this would be gratis and good for business to replace....he did treat me well on the purchase and really got a good trade deal. I shouldn't moan too much...

lost part

These dealers get reimbursed for the service they provide, usually they need to return the oldor broken part.
I just bought a new trailer and had the maxx air units installed with covers, after returning from our first and only trip one of the covers was ready to fall off. it was still there and the dealer has fixed it..

They hooked up the fans to the light sw... so there was another trip back and the shower does not lean toward the drain so theres always water standing... supposedly they are going to correct that.. the original water lines to thed shower were kinked, and we had hot but little cold. this all is a=on a brand new 2016 lacrosse. So far the dealer has worked with us, but we dont think much of his service people.. th4e service man saaid no grease was needed on the hitch...

We feel we paid top dollar for this .and are not very happy..

Oletimer... i think if these are your only issues, you've done well. These are mass produced homes on wheels. Sometimes, there will be problems. Typically, to my knowledge, the frustration is the fault of the service center, not FR.

I think you'll find that, across all RV manufacturers, most are happy before the purchase, but the bigger problem comes with trying to get service. Once they have your money, you are of little concern.

if I had lots of capital and I wasn't a dirt farmer, I'd open up an RV showroom and service shop. I have a different attitude about taking care of a customer after the initial sale and I'd make dam sure the service techs I hired, were qualified and paid commensurate with their abilities.

I read way too many stories on here about people getting shafted.

Those dealers are out there, but usually not shopped heavily because they do ask a premium price for their units at the initial purchase. It still comes down to making a profit, (unless you want to do run a business to break even or lose money) and it's a pay now or pay later. All depends on how the customer wants coddled.

To add to my previous post, there's still no excuse for poor service or lack of communication though!

IBRJet,
The whole thing is gone. Actually there seems to be a flapper that is flush with the vehicle - maybe just the cover? IDK because I never paid much attention to what it looked like before it disappeared.

Seems like I hit a sore spot with some folks - just think if these guys were car dealers - They'd be in hot water with the consumer protection agency. Fact is these are toys - big boy ones for sure - but toys nonetheless. had the same problem with the Goldwing. Still I dont know where to get a replacement on line. I'm not going back to the dealer.

Must be a different design than mine. Maybe you can find the same trailer on the RV lot and take a picture of the cover, then find it online.

Take a look at the pictures of vents across the top of the google search page or even click images. Most have links where you can buy. https://www.google.com/search?q=rv+m...obile&ie=UTF-8

I had the same thing happen on a new unit I got from the dealer, it was there before I left the lot and wasn't when I got home. General RV is ordering and replacing it under warranty.

I'm going to take a picture of the remaining vent and see if the dealer will order the piece for me. I'm also going to go to the dealer and see if I can find an RKSS - take a pic with the vent on. hopefully that will get me in the right direction...
At least I got the Furrion backup camera on this weekend. WOW. What an advantage it is to see the back of the TT. Thanks for all the help folks. Appreciated.

I lube the moving parts of the hitch but never grease the horseshoe. The $6 disk is so much neater and lasts forever!
