Yes, I'd be concerned. Something in the "arm mechanism" is binding. First thing I would do is to use a dry lubricant ( won't collect dirt/grime) on all the moving joints & pivot points. Also wouldn't hurt to spray some of the same dry lub on the metal rod portion of the struts to be sure they are not binding. If these actions don't correct the problem, I'd look at the arms ( u-shaped portion) to see of they are "pinched" together too much and not allowing the smaller u-shaped arm to disengage from the larger one that cradles it.
If all this fails, I'm afraid it's back to the dealer for some "professional help".
