My original cap faded on my 2015 Maxx. Company replaced it under warranty. Now the replacement is fading. Will they replace it again? Is there a cheap fix?
I can't imagine they would replace it again.
So you can do what the rest of us do; buff the oxidation off and wax it more often, or paint it.
I can tell you my next RV will be a lighter color

Well, I thought that might be moot as there is a clear coat over the paint. I also thought since the replacement part has it's own warranty, they might cover it. I also found out the extended warranty I bought is worthless fir this. Wonderful
Ah, I just assumed it was fiberglass and gelcoat. For painted with a clear coat to fade, that just sucks. Sounds like a poor clear coat job.
Call 'em up, can't hurt to ask!

I use Maguiars RV/Marine gelcoat products. They have a system to restore heavily oxidized gelcoat, and products for medium to light oxidation. Check out their website for details. After removing the heavy oxidation, I use their flagship gelcoat polish for light oxidation to maintain the finish. https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-M633...14883149&psc=1

What Maguiars product do you use for heavy oxidized gelcoat?
What Maguiars product do you use for heavy oxidized gelcoat?
This is what I used the first time to remove the really bad oxidation and restore the shine. Worked very well, but was a LOT of work, even with a buffer. https://www.meguiars.com/marine/prod...stem-m4965-kit
After that I use the flagship product to keep the finish up. It's like using regular wax, but will remove the slight oxidation my dark gray gelcoat seems to acquire every 2 months
