cheap plastic roof vent covers
i have a 2010 3100ss sunseeker. i just had to have all 4 of the roof vent covers replaced. the originals cracked and began breaking apart all around the bases. I learned they were cheap light weight plastic. so, as an fyi, keep an eye on yours before they break apart in a storm and leave you with a wet bed or floor. why would FR use the crappiest quality they could find?? Grrrr

Thats why it's a good idea to buy and install the MaxAire vent covers...protects the original ones from harmful UV, plus you can keep the vents open in the rain and not worry about water getting in, get extra air circulation, etc... They are very quick and simple install.

I got this from Amazon, Camco 40161/40168 White Unbreakable Polycarbonate Vent Lid - Ventline (pre 2008) & Elixir (since 1994) here's a direct link

a lot heavier than the ones that were on ours.

Heat and UV's destroy the thin plastic vent lids. It's not a Forest River exclusive, they are used on even the highest end units.

MaxAire vents are the best idea. one excellent example of why they make sense is the ability to turn them backwards!! Why . . . traveling on long dirt roads while traveling the gravel roads in places like Alaska and Labrador and other great camping adventures. allows you to pressurize the TT or fifth wheel keeping the dust out. Use the most forward vent. Try it!

The Max Air fans are great. Multispeed, reversible and never had a drop water inside no matter how hard it is raining. I'm not sure what they cost aftermarket, but you won't be disappointed.

hello I picked up vent covers at Walmart for $20.00 ea!
Hi, Its been several yrs since I posted anything on this site . This summer I was at my local Walmart and saw they had Camco roof vent covers for $19.99 ea and I installed 3 of them they fit the same as others brands I've seen for more money. The Camco covers have a front screened access cover that you can open with a screw driver for easy access to the regular vent. Ok thats my two cents worth. PS i have'nt had any problems with them so far. Those regular ventline roof vent covers are warrented for life, you can call and get a free replacement cover just pay for shipping. But the full roof vent camco 40431 are a plus after you replace the regular vent cover for sure.

Maxi Roof Vent Covers
Has anyone had experience installing these Maxi roof vent covers on a Create a Breeze vent. I am told that they will not allow enough air flow and could damage the fan assembly. I thought I read somewhere that someone had installed one and had no problem. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Are you talking about the powered bath exhast vent ? If so yes and it still works fine on this unit just open the inside vent as usual and turn on the exhast fan the camco cover over the vent installed the same way as the non powered vents. hope this helps.

I have max air vent covers over my fantastic fans.
It does reduce the air flow some and I've had them on since 2012 with no issues.

Yes that is what I meant, the bathroom power vent. THese covers are far less expensive than the ones they are recommending for the power vent. I'm going to give it a try, thanks for the response

I have installed the Max Air vent covers over out powerewd fans...I would recommend the Max Air 11 though...it allows a bit more airflow than the regular Max Air, plus it swivels to one side so no tools needed to flip it over for occasional cleaning of anything that may get in there. They only cost a few bucks more than the regular Max Aire.

Vent covers & UV
Dear WFD,
I have had MaxAire vent covers on all my vents since I purchased my Forest River Georgetown. I just replaced my bathroom vent lid because it disintegrated.
We like our Georgetown very much but there is no denying that Forest River uses low grade materials nd do not provide any service whatsoever.
