Clearance light sealant?
I removed the rear center clearance light to install a backup camera. I'm going to mount a plastic waterproof electrical box in its place, replace the clearance light on the front of the box and mount the camera on top.
Using the box allows me to avoid drilling a new hole in the exterior. Instead, I'm using the existing hole with the clearance light power wire. The wrote joints for the camera, clearance light and wireless transmitter will be inside the box.
The clearance light was very well sealed against leaks. It had spongy expanding foam under it to plug the drilled hole in the trailer wall. The caulking around the edges was hard as a rock and expertly applied.
Can anyone tell me what those materials are? I want to seal the electrical box to the wall as well as the clearance light was, and do the same when attaching the light to the box.
Thanks
