Cover versus carport?

Hello all, I am new to Rving. We are in the process of purchasing a 2015 Apex Nano 193BHS.

I have done a lot of research online and can't seem to find comparisons between putting a cover on the RV versus building a car port.

I assume putting the TT under a car port is better protection and more convenient. But is there any advantage of a cover versus a car port?

Or in other words, price being equal, is a cover or car port better for storing my TT?

I plan to keep the trailer on the north side of my house, so it will have good protection from the Southerly sun, but it will be open to the East and West.

Thank you for any advice or ideas!!

Sun is your camper's enemy. Provide the best protection you can afford against direct sunlight to avoid cracked caulk, faded decals, checked tire sidewalls, discolored trim, etc. Covers are fine IF THEY ARE ACTUALLY IN PLACE, but personally, I'd be unlikely to put one on after each outing.
