dinged ladder rail - help to find new

yep, I over-estimated the height of a low hanging limb and dinged-up one rail of the room ladder on my Class C.

I've looked around and the only camper dealer or Atwood dealer option is to pay $375 for a new ladder PLUS $200 for shipping. This is silly since I would then be throwing away 7 rungs, 14 rung end caps, a good rail and 4 stand off pipes to replace a 11' piece of 1" aluminum with two simple 90 deg bends.

Any suggestions as to where to get a new rail? I'm heading to local fabricators to try to have one made. My biggest concern is even Forest River dealers claim they can not be sure the new ladder will line up directly and I may have to drill new holes in the roof to anchor that end since Atwood could change their ladder dimensions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Tilly

Call Atwood directly. I know from personal experience that you used to be able to buy any component of their ladders. They faxed me an exploded view with a list of part numbers and I ordered from that.

Geotex1. Thanks - I put a call in to Atwood. Fabricator could only make from stainless and wanted >200. We'll see what Atwood comes back with when they call back.
