Does anyone know about this product?

I am interested in using something like Eternabond on the roof of my TT so I won't have to worry about constantly checking the roof/seams anymore. I saw a product at Menards called Protecto Form Flash 1 Conformable Flashing Tape that appears to be used for roofing on a sticks/bricks home.

Does anyone know if this product can be used on the roof of an RV to seal seams? I have not purchased any but am curious to know what others think.

I don't think that's as similar to eternabond as some tapes. It appears to be for vertical surfaces.

I have a different brand than eternabond, but don't recall the brand name. If you know a flat roof contractor In your area, they may be able to supply you with some, possibly even some left overs at a better cost.

Thanks for the link! My nephew was a contractor so I will check with him and see if he or his business partner can give me any suggestions. I'd love to use Eternabond but it is rather pricey.

I've used Eternabond and I've used others. Eternabond wins. When the other stuff fails it still does one thing very well. It gives you something else to curse at. Also price listed above is really close to same size roll of Eternabond on EBAY. Just search by width and length

It says Rated 30 days UV protection. Don't try it, I wouldn't trust it.

Eternabond tape is pretty inexpensive on eBay.

Expensive is relative. Eternabond is cheap when compared to water damage repair. Like my DW states "once and done"

I have had very good experience with Gaco Roof Tape. You must overcoat it with Gaco Roof (Silicone Liquid), but both remain flexible. I have used it on my house and two RVs.

I used Apoc Incredible tape. Got it at ABC Supply (roofing supply house - locations all over the US). If your nephew is/was a contractor maybe he can finagle wholesale.

I used the Gaco Liquid Roof Tape. It does not need to be over coated with the roofing material according to the local dealer. I covered all my lap sealant with it.

DouglasReid - I was describing the (non-liquid) Gaco Roof Tape (comes in rolls). I agree that the Liquid Roof tape does not require any further coating. See:

I fully understand and was not criticizing, just offering another option. You could also use the tape and coat it with the Liquid Roof tape for additional protection on the seams. the price for a gallon of the Liquid Roof tape and the Silicone Flex sealant are pretty much the same at around $90.00 per gallon.

I even applied it over the couple of bubbles on my roof. I thought about cutting the roof and eliminating the bubble but could not bring myself to intentionally make a hole in the roof membrane. I just wanted to reinforce those areas I thought may be weak.

It sounds like you are trying to do it as cheaply as possible no matter what it costs. Eternabond is a proven product for use on RV roofs - it works!! You can use something less expensive, but in the long run what you save in tape will be spent ++ fixing the damage that can occur.

just need to make sure that the other tape is rated for your type of roof- many stick homes uses petroleum based tapes - not good to use on tpo or edpm not sure which type roof you have

No worries there, the Doco products are certified for use on EPDM roofing material.

It is made with asphalt which is a petroleum byproduct which is bad for your EPM roof. Use Etherbond.
