The issue I saw with my replaced dome was he torque of the amazing working hands of assembly personal over tightening and warping the dome causing stress cracks. Or just a air powered screw driver running all out and over tightening warping and cracking. Long term I am thinking of getting a piece of flat lexan and replaced the done entirely on my 8289 WS when it cracks.

A piece of eternabond tape will keep the water out longer and better than most silicone sealants. Experience speaking.

I always thought mine was cracked from a hail storm. Now, maybe not.

I never gave a thought to just replacing it with a piece of flat lexan or acrylic could even go quarter inch thick and not have to worry about cracking because of over tightening.

Which is what Lexan is. Plexiglas even 1/4" will crack and break easier than polycarbonate and is not uv resistant. Best thing to do is get a replacement and put a 1/8" x 1" alum strip on top of the flange and not tighten the screws so much.

You could head down to the Coors Light rink at the Komoka Area and see if they have a piece of old rink glass, that would not break with hail for sure! We had massive Hail in Chalk River 2 weeks ago while driving thru, thought for sure the dome was cracked after that.

That arena is brand new, but I need to walk down there to renew my library card next week so maybe I'll ask, that stuff is pretty strong.

I could not believe that they put those plastic pieces on without using a sandwich strip even out the pressure.
