Eternabond or something else?

My slide out has square pieces of some kind of sealing tape in the upper corners of outer trim piece where it touches the bulb seals when the slide is shut. The front piece came off the second year I had the trailer and made a mess with the sticker sealer stuff on the back of the tape. It even tore my bulb seal because the bulb seal stuck to the glue stuff when I opened the slide. The dealer replaced the bulb seal and the square tape stuff. I just got back from a long trip to Florida and the tape was starting to bunch up again and expose the glue stuff underneath it. I'm including a picture of the tape to see if it is eternabond. Do you think flex tape would work better or be less of a mess when it does mess up? I just spent 30 minutes cleaning the glue residue off everything. That side if the slide closes a little tighter than the other side and I think when the slide closes and shifts a little it moves the tape. Worse when it is warm outside.

Hmmmm. Maybe Chinese Eternabond. Get some real stuff. Follow directions and reinstall.

Do you think Forest River would have used something different? It happened twice already. Originally it was black but when the dealer replaced it they used white. Should it be strong enough to handle pressure and movement?

Is it doing it on both sides? Slide may be out of adjustment.

Only on one side. The slide is a little tighter closing on the side that is messing up. I would hate to adjust the slide though since I don't have any issues opening or with leaking.

What is the purpose of the tape? Is it holding the top and side pieces of trim together? I don't recall seeing that on the slide trim of my trailer. If it is needed to hold the trim pieces together how about replacing it with a layer of Bondo or epoxy?

Mine has similar tape, but it is black. I think the might have used it to hold the trim together when they installed it to the camper?

Omg. I looked for like the 5th time. That is the top under the topper...lord. I thought that was the bottom/side. Sorry.

I too see no reason for it.

I see no need for it, unless I'm missing something. What could it possibly do?
