Exterior caulk

Need to do some caulk work on the exterior of my camper. I have read on here to not use silicone caulk but today I went to a camper rv place to buy some dicor caulk for the roof self leveling and asked what to use on the rest of the exterior and they said use 100% silicone. After that I called an rv sales and repair place two towns over and they said it was okay to use the silicone caulk. What does everyone here think.
