Fan-Tastic Roof Vent Install

Got a question on an install on a Fan-Tastic roof vent cover. Video instructions say that you remove existing screws and replace them with the new ones. I get it. Problem I have is that the existing vent screws are all covered with the wide band of sealant. I would have to disturb that by cutting through it to get to the screw heads. If I do that and then use some sealant when using new screws, is that going to be a good enough seal ? I really hate to disturb a good seal

Yes you do have to get to the screws if you are installing the fantastic fan ultra breeze covers. I did mine just yesterday. Get you some dicor lap seal. After you expose the screw heads and remove them. ...apply some dicor inside the screw hole. Take the new screws and screw down the brackets...The dicor you put inside the hole should 'ooze' up through the bracket, once that is done. ...apply dicor once again on top of the new screw. Use the dicor somewhat literally. The overall installation should not affect the overall seal.....hope this helps
