Forest river roof membrane

While cleaning the roof on my 2014 Rockwood, I noticed a low spot near the rear of the trailer next to the roof ladder. this area always had a pool of water that would not run off. I thought by leveling this area with some self leveling caulk , i could eliminate this problem. I was wrong. It only made things worse. I used dicor and instead of solving the problem, it created a new one. Looks like as the caulk cured, it pulled the membrane up from the low spot. now there is an air pocket there. I may have voided my extended service contract. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem?

Dicor will not void the roof membrane warranty.

The roof membrane warranty is for the membrane ONLY not the penetrations or seams. If the membrane is deteriorating; that is a warranty claim; a leak or water damage is not (even if you have owned it less than a year) unless you can prove it was badly sealed at the factory. That is tough to prove as they will want documentation that you did the quarterly roof maintenance.

IE the claim for bad sealant must be made in the first 3 months of ownership at your first roof maintenance (normally before damage actually occurs).

Some "Catch"; that Catch 22...

thanks

Thank you for your reply Herk7769. Actually there never was a water leak. the problem was water pooling in an area about 4 in. wide and about 8 in. long. The membrane, was securely fastened to the decking before i applied the caulk to that area. After the caulk set up and began to cure the membrane pulled away from the decking. Leaving a void between the decking and the membrane. The factory warranty has run out,i bought an extended warranty when i bought the trailer . Thanks again

Sounds like a dent in the substrate roof. Maybe someone's heavy foot?

Need to fix the underlying low spot. Talk to an rv roof specialist
