Front cap fading.
Pictures of my 2014 front cap fading. Waiting for a reply from my dealer for war entry work.
I hope they fix this.

I had a sililar issue with my 2014 Blue Ridge but in the front of the cap. The dealer took photos, sent it to FR and in a few weeks the approval to strip and repaint the front cap had come. Work was done and the RV never has looked better.
The dealer told me that this is not unusual for the front caps in they are the part of the RV to get the most abuse. He also told me that the manufacturers usually don't actually do the initial painting themselves... but farm it out to a vendor that gets paid "by-the-piece".
With that, the more they can get through the mill, even with a little less paint is more in their pocket, so... the result
Mine was covered under warranty so I would think they would cover yours as well. Luckily I had a dealer that specializes in RV body work and maybe that helped.
Anyway, good luck with your repair.

Factory replaced my faded cap while at Goshen. It did not take them very long. Good luck

Yes. It's a fairly common problem that's not limited to FR products. My step sister and her husband had the same problem on their Sunset Trail TT. There are some other threads on the forum that talk about this.

Well I got my reply back from Forrest river.
They stated since I bought my camper in Jan 2014 and I turned it in for front cap on nov 2015.
The one year manufacture warranty ran up on Jan 2015 and they won't cover it.
They stated if I drive it back to Forrest river they will replace it but I will have to pay for parts and labor.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this resolved? And get my cap repainted.
Thanks for any input back.

I had our 2015 Chaparral painted in November last year. We were out of warranty by about 6 months. We took delivery in April of 2014. Coachman covered it completely. I would try again and go higher up on the food chain.

Same problem on my 2014 36 ckts
Our front cap has exactly the same fading in the same spots so this might be a manufacturing defect for that model year. We are in Florida right now but will be back in Ontario in April and will start the warranty process contacting the dealer first and then moving on to Forest River after that. I agree this would not look good on the manufacturer if they will not support a recall program for this problem. This forum and the Internet is a powerful tool to use for getting customer support from Forest River on issues that are obviously manufacturing defects that surface only after the initial warranty period.

I had a few issues to my 5th wheel that needed to be fixed and one was the fading cap. They addressed the fixes as a "Good Will repair" because it was out of warranty. I would suggest to find the Forest River rep that has access to grant these repairs.

I doubt that it is paint, but "tinted gel coat fiberglass".

We just discovered a similar issue with our 2015 Wildcat Maxx... FR has asked for us to have it looked at by a dealership and provide an estimate for repair.... So far they have been great at responding. But will wait till work is done. Was so disappointed when I discovered my RV looking old beyond it's short life...
